Custom Metal Oregon - COR-TEN Sculpture Project Begins

Two years after installing the tasting bar, hoods, sinks, and countertops in the tasting room at Soter Vineyards the owners asked us to create a sculptural metal insert for the fireplace. Visitors to the winery are likely to notice mounds of collected fallen limbs in the surrounding oak groves. The stacks of sticks and the resulting celebratory summer solstice bonfire were the inspiration for this sculpture.

The sculpture was shop fabricated starting with mocked up fireplace and a stack of sticks.

Custom Metal Oregon - Solid Form at La Casa Verde "Green" Building Expo on Earth Day Weekend

Solid Form Fabrication invites you to visit us in our booth on April 24th at this year’s La Casa Verde festival “A Celebration of Building Green in McMinnville” to learn more about what makes metal an exceptionally "green" material.

The festival will be located within McMinnville’s charming Granary District in partnership with The Market (McMinnville’s Saturday Market) and Cellar Ridge Custom Homes and will feature approximately 20 green home industry specialists and a delicious chef’s choice harvest dinner (including wine tasting from local wineries) where local awards will be given out for members and entities within the community which support both green building and earth friendly activities.

Curious about what makes stainless steel a “green” material? Find out here.
Be sure to click on the “Stainless Steel The Green Material” PDF file at the bottom of the page.

Custom Metal - Steel handrails help make traditional style plank house ADA compliant

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde are nearing completion on construction of a traditional cedar plank house being built near Uyxat Powwow Grounds in Grand Ronde. While we were honored to provide metal handrails, fire grates and door track, the impressive part of this building is the traditional construction using logs and cedar planks. The main structure is supported by massive 30” diameter logs, and the entire perimeter is wrapped with wide cedar planks. Eric Scott, tribal engineer, is proud of multiple design solutions that allowed the building to retain traditional design components like dirt floors, fire pits and native materials, while satisfying current engineering codes and providing ADA compliant access. Very cool building...check it out next time you're headed to the Oregon Coast.
